About us

Our goal: promoting professional equality between women and men in the French administrative jurisdiction !

Created in January 2020 by judges of administrative courts, administrative courts of appeal, the National Court of Asylum and members of the Council of State (Conseil d’Etat), the association “Justice Administrative Alter-Egale” (JAAE) works in favor of parity and for the dissemination of a true culture of equality within the French administrative justice.

A forum for discussion, the association JAAE actively contributes, through the organization of conferences, working groups and regular video meetings (called « equality lunches”), to the identification and dissemination of good practices to promote professional equality in the administrative jurisdiction.

As a place of mutual support, JAAE accompanies its members, who so wish, in their professional career, to help them evolve while preserving the necessary balance between private and professional life. In particular, it offers its members the opportunity to participate in mentoring actions and workshops.

A place of diversity, JAAE has welcomed women and men from all administrative jurisdictions since its creation. As the first association to include members of the Council of State (Conseil d’Etat), administrative tribunals and administrative courts of appeal, JAAE is strongly committed to the unity of the French administrative jurisdiction.  In march 2023, it had more than 160 members out of the 1,450 active administrative judges, and it has recently started to think about how to open up to all agents who work in the administrative jurisdiction. Convinced that professional equality, an essential lever for improving working conditions and social cohesion, is everyone’s business, the association brings together women and men who are equally committed, as evidenced by the composition of its governing bodies.

As a place of openness, JAAE is notably a member of the “2Gap” and “Administration moderne” networks and maintains close links with other networks and sister associations that work in favor of professional equality within the public and private sectors.  Alongside them, it makes proposals and demands to the public authorities to strengthen parity and equality in the administrative jurisdiction and in all public and private sectors.
